Our clever STEM Ambassadors (Keith & Ernie) have been modding the HC-SR04 sensor to include the voltage divider on board. This means we can dispense with the breadboard and use something more robust. Thus far we have two sensor housings to test out:
3D printed bracket and a 2D laser cut gizmo.
The 2D holder needs an additonal 90 degree bracket, but we’ve got loads of meccano to use – so that’s ideal. We’ll spend this week and next trying these out using the CAMJAM code in both clubs.
First tryout using a simple robot shown in the video at the bottom of the page. Judging by the failed attempts at getting this to work (last year), we need some clever coding to make it through the maze in < 5 minutes!
